A digital immigrant is an individual who was born before the widespread adoption of digital technology. The term digital immigrant may also apply to individuals who were born after the spread of digital technology and who were not exposed to it at an early age. They will feel it hard to adjust with technological devices and take time in doing work with it. They are people who did not grow up with computing or the internet, and so have had to adapt to the new language and practice of digital technologies. They need more practice. contrasted with digital natives who know no other world than one defined by the internet and smart devices.
